[A/S] DeLorme, Garmin Problem

I have Delorme SA7,8,2003,Eartha, Garmin Mapsource,GPSIII & 
a GPS V. As long as I have had all this stuff & ran it on a Win98 
or XL desktop PC it all worked together and the only problems that 
I ever had were human ones, mine. Mapped trips at home, uploaded 
routes to GPSs, never got lost, never asked directions (Ha) and was 
"king of the road"!
So, I says "wife, we need a laptop, get rid of all those old map books 
& such", course I said this after I bought the laptop, which came 
a couple of days ago. And now, on to the TROUBLE. Loaded all that 
wonderful software into the laptop (WinXL) and lo the SA7,8,Eartha 
don't talk to my GPSs any more. SA2003 and Garmin MapSource do 
however. I like SA7,8,Eartha, don't like SA2003 and MapSource too 
much. Would like to get old familiars working again.

Emailed DeLorme, was told to do a "clean install and everything 
would be fine, swell". Did so and no help there. 

Anyone got any idea what I didn't do right? Besides buying the laptop 
in the first place. That doesn't count.

Next problem is, didn't find all this out until yesterday and am leaving 
for a 60 day odyssey to Baja, CA & NV tomorrow. Probably win 
all the money back in Vegas anyway.....yah, right.

Apologies, but I have cross posted this to a couple of different 
newsgroups and mailing lists cause I need help or said wife is going to 
bash my skull in with my pile of Xmas toys.
