Re: [A/S] Convincing My Wife on Airstream
There are many good reasons for each.
I think a square box will hold more and can be designed to have
more cabs and places to store stuff... than a rounded area.
If you are going to pull something the nod goes to Airstream.
I would guess very few people have ever claimed how difficult
it was to pull an Airstream. Lets go 5 to 10 years down the road
of ownership with any year of Airstream and the colors are
dated or looking dull. Who's going to want to pull all that
stuff out of a SOB and find someone to make custom window
treatments and all the little frilly things to doll it up?
All Airstreams that i have seen have an understated decor.
It hold up well over the years and ages well on the eyes as
time ravges style trends.
Visit the repair facilities in RV dealers espically in the
north. This is the time of the year that they saved up for all
the big jobs to keep the shops going in the slow time. See what work
their doing.... see what went wrong... Are the rigs in for
warranty work, insurance work, lack of maintaince?
( i have a concluded a claim with an insured where their 5 yr
old wood framed fifth wheeler needs over $9,900 all from
water damage and no exterior damage. just leakin' in around the
seams.) Look hard at used trailers. We all own used. Some are
just less used than others. Only the dealers have new!
Figure out how much wear shows in the older unit (it'll show)
Then figure out how much used you want to live with.
Remember most units sit a lot and don't get used as much as
dreams think. The biggest reason to consider you came here
for advice, does the other brand have a network to talk to ???
