[A/S] KoolOMatic etc
Just purchased an 89 Excella 1000 34 footer. I picked it up in
Massachusetts where it was covered in snow and ice. I was afraid to try to
check the fans as they might have been frozen shut. Since I have had it
home, yesterday, have not had a chance to hook it to a power source. I
have the owners manual and inserts but there was nothing on the KoolOMatic
fan. It is in the bedroom and has a slide in cover, which I suppose is for
winter use or when it is not being used. There is a thermostatic control
mounted above the heater thermostat on the wall in the BR. Any comments or
opinions on the fan would be appreciated... did find the manufacturers web
site but will have to call them to see if they can forward any info.
Also if anyone has the same trailer, the Ceiling light in BR is
missing. There is a small hole where the wiring is visible and some screw
holes where the light fixture may have been attached. Am I correct in
assuming that it is the site of a missing light fixture....all else in the
trailer seems fine for its age... will need some cosmetic stuff but seems
good overall.
I had posted looking for possible campgrounds on the route back either off
the Jersey Tpk or in Northern Delaware.... did not get any responses but
Patty Raimondo asked me to pass along any info as she was planning on going
to Sarasota... I have no good news. I don't have the booklet before me but
located two campgrounds, I think in the AAA booklet... One was at the split
of Routes 13 & 40 in State Line Delaware which is just below the Delaware
Memorial Bridge.. That was a Motel and Trailer Park. on the Right or West
side of the Road.....at the split I passed it at about 40 MPH but it looked
like the Bates Motel in decline, with a couple of Tractor Trailer boxes
sitting in the parking lot. Its neighbors were a Psychic and an Adult book
store... I didn't bother to stop... did find something further South near
Harrington Delaware well off the road... it would be hard to recommend but
did have hookups.. Part of the problem is that I arrived at about 930PM
pretty tired and it looked a little grimmer than it turned out to be. At
least I had electric, which gave me heat etc....
