This is how my 72 Overlander works too.
I replaced my twist-off cap with a cap to garden hose
adapter. I put on a green! garden hose ball valve and
a garden hose cap.  When I want to dump neatly I can
put a 5 foot garden hose on the adapter and empty
96.74% of the grey water before I close the valve
remove the garden hose and then take off the cap and
put on the big sewer hose.
