No problem pulling the Spartan. I moved it from San Jose over highway 17 
through the Santa Cruz mountains to Santa Cruz. Came up the steep hills 
in second gear, and I mostly came down in second also because I didn't 
have the brakes hooked up. I brought the Avion camper back from down by 
Mexico, and the big 460 hardly knew it was there. The only down side is 
the gas mileage. A Banks Power Pack or other header set would help 
there, but I don't use the truck enough to justify the cost. For my 
money, the Ford 460 and Chevy 454 are unbeatable.

What I find REALLY amazing is the gas mileage that Argosys and 
Airstreams get from the 454. I just took our 24' Argosy down to L.A. and 
back, WAY overloaded, and it got 9.3 mpg! And that's without a header 
set. I would expect 1.5-2 mpg improvement with a good set of headers, to 
judge from my experience with Banks and our Winnebago Chieftain.
