Re: [A/S] Dish or Direct TV?

The satellite tv thing is really a pain in the butt.

I have Directv and I do fine with it. That said, Dish is more user friendly
for RVers. Directv really will bust your rocks about network programming.
Go to their site and read all about RV waivers.

If you are just a weekend traveler simply take your home receiver along with
you.

The problem is the network thing. They are now doing spot local channels. For
example if you live in Knoxville yo can get the Knoxville local channels on
your dish and watch them at home. If you put that receiver in your RV and
drive outside of a small radius (maybe 50 miles) you will lose the local
channels. Theat's when you will want the NY/CA network channels but they
will only give those to fulltimers. You need to prove you live in your RV.

For some reason Dish isn't as difficult about it.
