RE: [A/S] Hensley and horizontal tanks

Alan,
I did not post it, but I mounted a Hensley on my 34' Limited with
Horizontal tanks. I had to drill clearance holes through the corner of
the angle iron, that holds the tanks between the sides of the "A" frame
, for the "u" bolts to go through. This was not a big problem at all,
and there was plenty of the tank mounting brackets left in place to hold
up the tanks. In fact, my tank mounting brackets were welded to the "A"
frame, and there were small holes in the corner of the joint. I just had
to open up the hole a little bit to get the U bolt to go through.
The only problem with the Hensley and the horizontal tanks is the
difficulty in getting the tank cover open and closed. The cover hits the
jack mounting hardware as it swings up and down. This requires one to
push in on the sides of the cover as it goes up and down, or get scratch
marks on the side of the cover. I push on mine, and still have small
marks in the finish of the cover after 3 years of opening and closing.
