Dan, I think another approved fix is to use an approved Al to Cu connector 
and attach a short piece of copper wire to the end of all the aluminum wires 
at the final connection point.  The final connection to your receptacles and 
switches are then made with the copper pigtail.  If this is a solution of 
interest to you, check with your local electrical supply house for the 
connectors.

The big fire at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in KY just across the river 
from Cincinnati, OH was traced to aluminum wiring connectors.
