Spraying soapy water in the area of the "pssssss" will bubble at the
location of the leak.  I had one spring a leak at the point where the
two half shells meet.  The seal gave out in only 3 months.  

Feel lucky if your regulator lasted six years.  I have replaced two in
the last two and a half years.  One Fisher and one Marshall.  It is an
easy replacement task and the Marshall is much less expensive.
