Re: [A/S] OTG in a/s and furnace draw
While on our Winter Sojurn, the StatPower converter/charger had the factory
smoke escape. As we needed something Right Now, we went to Wal-Mart and
bought a $40.00 battery charger. I set it under the couch, where the
batteries reside in the Avion, and clipped it directly to the batteries.
Because of that lash-up, the eMeter didn't "see" any of the juice flowing
INto the batteries, only that removed. Interestingly, it took about 3 days
before the eMeter was reporting that the batteries were "low", based on the
AHs removed. Of course, the voltage reading showed that we were in good
shape and could have continued indefinitely.
The battery charger will ride along on any long Winter trips in the future
because this is the second time we bought one to tide us over a dead
converter. Besides, it can be used to charge the truck batteries if need be.
