Yeah, I've tried DVD's on my laptop, but was not too impressed. The
resolution and refresh rate just isn't there. I also sometimes have problems
with the sound being out of synch. Plus I like a larger screen. I already
have my entire CD collection burned to MP3's though on a removable USB hard
drive. Whenever I want music I just plug'er in, set WinAmp to shuffle and
It's like listening to the worlds greatest radio station. Except for
watching "television" just about everything else I do with my laptop...
including telephone calls on occasion. Even the laptop however leaves
something to be desired in the music arena though, when I don't feel like
wearing headphones.

A friend of mine just got one of those Sony "all in one" DVD/receiver/home
theatre things, I checked it out tonight.. 220w max power, with 1.7w
"standby".. not too shabby... Those new Plasma screen TV's don't use a whole
lot of power either... still to big, and WAAAY to pricey for my taste
though.
