Barbara, I have venetian blinds everywhere. I strung a piece of thin 
shock chord against the hidden side of the bottom piece of the blind. 
This loops over the window handles and holds the bottom of the blind to 
the wall. I have a rear double and the hold downs that come with the 
blinds would get knock off by a certain butt...the Blinds in the bedroom 
are wooden and go right up over the ceiling and down the other side. 
Kind of like being on a porch. Better than inside an ostrich egg anyway.

I am thinking of a silver blind in the kitchen once I get the counter 
and walls stainless in the kitchen area.
