You don't have to upgrade. Your 6.0/4.10 will pull the TT okay. It 
will be a little slow on steep grades in the mtns, but will pull it. 
You didn't say where you will be towing. The west has higher mtns, 
but I'm sure some of the mtns back east are plenty long & steep, as 
is some in the west. Trailer Life did a study about three or four 
years a go as to the cost of a big gas engine compared to the Diesel 
pickups. They concluded the the brake even point was about 100K 
miles. There isn't a hugh difference between towing with a big block 
gas & a diesel. I've towed with both & the diesel will get better 
MPG, but its louder & you get some smelly exhaust. The gas gets less 
MPG & probably won't last as meany miles as the Diesel but less $$ to 
maintain. I probably like the diesel more & my wife likes the gas 
because of no smell. Both will do the job!!!
