Re: [A/S] WBCCI Numbers
Hi Jack
I hope I am not getting myself in trouble here.
Since I always use a different unit I have the numbers on a couple of
pieces of aluminum that I stick to the frame of the solar grey wrap
window with 2 sided tape. On the rear I just stick it to the glass.
This way I can remove them easily an not leave any marks on the
Airstream.
On the lot here you here all kinds of comments from prospective
owners as what the numbers must mean. The most common comment is "I
guess those ones out back are rentals". One original theory years
ago was "thats how much they owe on it". We have had people call to
order parts that thought it was the serial number etc. I think it is
kind of fun but lately we have been having more opposition to the
numbers on the front of the trailers from prospective members.
In my theory we would rather have them as members than loose them
over number placement. What we have been doing for many of them is
placing 4" numbers on the upper right corner 3 piece solar grey wrap
or on the glass if the wrap is not present. On the rear we have been
putting them in the upper right corner of the window. Some once they
have been involved with the club for a while have decided to put the
large numbers on.
It maybe worthwhile for the club to consider an alternative number
system for those that object so that the alternative would be
standardized.
