[A/S] Gas for your tow vehicle

 Hi All,
this morning here in Ontario Canada, I was watching a motoring
program on TV called Motoring 2002, in it they have a section where
the mechanic gives tips on different items to do with cars and
pickup trucks. This weeks topic was on the right octane gas for your
car or truck. The mechanic recommended that if you are towing a
heavy load in hot weather you should go up to the next highest
octane from the one recommended for your vehicle, such as from 87
octane to 89 octane. He maintains you will get more power from your
engine and a little bit better gas mileage, but as he said this is
only in hot weather. Any comments on this recommendation?
