 My 78 Excella has the factory reinforced frame. As I understand it 
you need to look at the frame between the wheels. If a plate that has 
holes in it is welded in place it was at the factory at prodution 
time. If it has a solid plate that has been bolted in place it was 
post prodution. So said someone on this site when this subject came 
up about a year or so ago. Arnie
