The rivets pulled loose on ours because the piano hinge started sliding down
and left a gap at the top,  the wind while driving caused stress which
pulled out the rivets.  We stopped and hammered up the piano hinge and
mickey moused a temporary fix with caulk.  The Airstream factory rep
suggested a longer bracket to replace it because the hole was now too big
for the rivet.  Walt had a terrific fix.  Turn the bracket a few degrees,
rivet it in new position, fill  old holes.  Voila!  Lasted the trip from
Ocala to California and back to SC.  Still holds tight.
