Steve: What I did for my 22' Safari is I found HomeDepot had 50 lb tanks on 
sale, far cheaper than the big 100 lb ones.  (Actually went looking for 100 
lb tanks as I saw them there, found out they had 50 lb and they gave me a 
discount to get rid of them.) 

The advantage to me was: 1) lifting a 50 lb tank and moving it about was a 
lot easier, 2) I picked up four of them for less than the cost of two 100 lb 
tanks, 3) easier to transport for filling, they stand upright strapped to the 
side of my pickup with the cap on bed - dont have a tank laying flat waiting 
to roll around, 4) here the filling station limits amount of propane by law 
you can carry in a private vehicle to 100 lbs.  5) less likely to tip over on 
uneven ground, and 6) to help answer your question no modifications or add 
ons where needed - I left the 30 lb tanks on the trailer as emergency back up 
and just took the valve and hoses off the threaded rod moved them to the side 
and hooked up two 50 lb tanks with no problem.  Now I have basically 3 sets 
of tanks and no worry about running out of fuel.
