Re: [A/S] Used Hensley

actually, there is no "warranty pickup" as there is on an unexpired vehicle
warranty. The serial number of the hitch has to be above somewhere in the
vicinity of 4,000 and the cost of that lifetime warranty is $479.
The new price of a Hensley is about $2500. you must be able to buy it for no
more than $1800 and preferably about $1500. as you say, you want it to be
nearly new but if you simply send them the $479 (if they warrantee the hitch at
all), they should completely replace all items with problems.

in my opinion, since I own both, I would rather take the pullrite off the burb
and put it on my E350 using fabricated hangers. the only time - in my opinion -
where the Hensley is better than the pullrite is if you are wanting to hook up
to the trailer with a car. most cars cannot accept a Pullrite bow.
Otherwise, I would rather have a hitch which is not trying to force the tow
vehicle to go straight. on slippery curves, that could be catastrophic.
With the Pullrite, you have a "soft" connection which follows the tow, not
pushing it.

I just prefer to pull with the pullrite. And, again, my Hensley is for sale, in
Houston, has only been used to pull a TT from the East Coast into CenTex and
then the hitch was stored in a garage for a year. I bought it and have stored
it in my TT for the last 2 yrs. I have never mounted it. I have towed a
friend's TT with his Hensley.

again, if anyone is interested in mine, feel free to contact me off list. It is
certainly for sale.
