Well, yes and no.  Yes it is a proponent of propane, and propane 
being a basically non filtered fuel is dirty and has this residue in 
it in greater or lesser quantities.  If possible, you should try to 
clean this residue as much as possible, but I don't think there is a 
cleaner that you can use.  Just wipe what you can, and if a hose is 
getting pretty blocked, you can run a clothes hanger through it with 
a swab on the end.  If things get too blocked, you will have to 
replace them (ie: hoses, regulators, valves etc.)
