The article is in Page 12 of the August 2002 issue.  They say that 
the valves for steel tanks are shorter than the ones for aluminum 
tanks.  However, I dont know if this is internally shorter, as they 
do not say how to identify them from the outside.  There must be a 
way because they say that a simple visual inspection will do.
