Re: [A/S] Battery dead resolution

I hope, in all this furor to keep the battery from going dead, that you
have checked the battery itself for it's charge, rather than depending
on the meter in the trailer. I had no hoist, no lights, no reading on
the meter and thought my battery was fried. So did my A/S dealer. When I
checked the battery, however, with my handy Radio Shack meter guage, it
was 12 volts! Found out though, on my 74 International, that there were
two little wires attached to a copper plate on the face of the control
panel near the battery, that had worked loose. Once they were firmed up,
I was back in business. Had nothing to do with the battery, fuses or
what ever other horror one can imagine. I've had them work loose a
couple of times since with the same symptoms. One of these days will get
my little crimper out and put little rings on the ends of the wire and
bolt them to their little screws.
