Hi Tim,
Sounds like your first trip out was great fun.150 miles is usually our limit
for the day and we can enjoy the time parked as well as the drive.
Your wife has a valid point about the detector, 2 small children died from
carbon monoxide poisoning a couple years ago. They were sleeping with
their parents, who survived, in a trailer near where we live when not on the
road with our Stream.
Our answer when paying for electricity at a park is a small electric "cube"
heater, 1500 amps, thermostatically controlled which we purchased at Kmart,
but all the other stores carry them. You may have to wait a couple months
to find them available, but they are only $20.
They are nice in the bathroom, too, if you must get up during the night. We
carry 2 with us, one up front which runs most of the night, pointed down
towards the bedroom, the other close to us in case it really gets cold. Get
the type that turns off if it gets knocked over.
