I've heard those stories and that is exactly why I would not run it.  Or
even a new furnace w/o a carbon monoxide detector.

Now, if I had a detector do I still need to worry?

Do I have to get a RV detector from Camping World or would any Walmart type
unit work?

We had an electric heater in the new A/C I installed but that didn't do
much.  We also brought a small space heater.  I think it is a ceramic type
with a thermostat on it.  But we did not use it.  I guess we should have.  I
know the baby was fine, but it just bothers me to feel her little hands and
have them cold to the touch :-(
