Jack, I had mine in storage about two months with the 12 volt switch off and 
found the battery dead, also.  Only current drain should have been the LP 
detector.  Solution is to back the tow vehicle close enough to plug in the 
trailer pigtail.  That gives the required 12 volts in the trailer to operate 
the jack, lights, etc.
