[A/S] Answers to Questions on Twins to Double

 Twins to Double, from Ned Digh (npdigh@ktis.net), for Chris and Jim:

Each twin had a lift lid under the mattress, with storage/drawers  under the 
lid.  The HVAC duct had a joint at the bath wall, so it was easy to pull off 
the excess duct work. The attachment of a grill is on my need to do list.  
We lost the night stand and some storage, but the trade off was well worth 
it for us.  Next:  cabinets above the twins:  both had a small shelf over a 
light on the wall (bath & closet walls).  I left those intact, very 
handy and high enough on the wall to cause no problems. No other cabinets 
were present.  Foot travel around the bed is close, but not difficult, as 
long as you don't stump you toes on the bed frame.  In the corner next to 
the bath wall, we have an electric oil filled radiator and between the bed 
and the closet wall corner a small metal shelf unit for alarm clock, etc.  
The built in water pressure aparatus is still present in the corner, but not 
in sight.   As for the compartment door from the outside, it is out of 
sight, covered by the bed, but I will cover with a panel of some sort before 
Winter.  Moving the double box springs in was not a problem, but have a good 
sense of humor when you attempt to  lay it down on the bed frame.  A plan in 
advance helps, which I did not have.  I finally got my wife to bring me 
something to prop it up and I crawled out!  I have had friends who like the 
twin beds, but we usually do some cold weather camping and it got cold 
against the curved walls.  Ned Digh
