Terry,
I would not weld a chain on the bottom of the a-frame as this would make
the metal rather brittle if too much heat is used and a failure could be
down the road.
I would just go with some heavy bolts.
I will throw this in in case there is one person left who doesn't know
it; Be sure you cross your chains when you hook them up.
