I had the valves changed on my 30# tanks for about $25 ea. The tanks did not need recertification until 2006. Made sense to me. Had to "use up" the propane in each (or waste it by venting). Any competent LPG vendor can make the change, though prices will vary. Pays to shop around. Jim
