Oliver:
I don't see why not... The 2000 was not available when I bought the 3000 and 
it runs the air if I turn the electronic Idle off..
One of the advantages of the pair of 2000's would be redundancy... It's 
unlikely they would both give trouble at the same time and with the 
exception of air, you would still have 110vac.
