Call Jay at Oasis RV in Tucson. He'll not only tell you how to make the
repair, but dollars to donuts, he'll have the parts you need for
re-establishing the step.

Tell him I recommended you contact him. If he doesn't have what you need in
stock, he can get it within short order.

While your head is into steps, take a look at the other component parts.
It's smart to have at least a set of those recessed nuts and bolts for the
elbow of the step where you fold it up or down.
