Everything I've owned over the past 25 years has been insured by my
neighborhood State Farm agent. In the rare occasion when I have had a
claim, usually a phone call has handled everything. I simply can not
overstate the value of having a friendly, face-to-face relationship with
your insurance agent. Yes, I could probably find cheaper insurance for
my homes, vehicles & Airstream. But as Rick said, when your agent knows
you personally, they know you are not out to cheat the insurance company
and that all you are after is a fair replacement of the insured item.
I've NEVER been asked to waist time getting the proverbial 3 repair
quotes or had my agent ask me to prove that I really owned the
lost/damaged item. They know me too well. 

I doubt many will get that kind of service from those insurance
companies that have your "agent" at the other end of a telephone call to
another state (which I am now learning might also be in India!)

The only thing that might make the equation different is where State
Farm and my neighborhood State Farm agent may not understand the
difference between Airstream (vintage or not) replacement values and
those of SOB. I did ask my agent if I could purchase 100% replacement
insurance in the event of a total loss. I was told such insurance was
not legal in Texas, which seems pretty stupid to me (if I choose to pay
a higher premium for replacement insurance, why should some egotistical
legislator be able to tell me I can't?)
