Re: Jordan Ultima 2020 brake controller

I have owned and used a Jordan Ultima for about two years now (self-
installed) and have only one problem. We live where it gets cold in
the winter and the slide switch in the control module sticks when
the cab of the truck is cold. It holds at a minimal value on the
digital display (the trailer is not coupled up to the controller)
and will not release until it gets warm. Tapping the controller
will sometimes release the switch.

The solution to the problem is to simply slip the cable out of the
holder on the brake pedal lever or depower the controller when it is
not being used. A friend has the same problem and took the
controller apart and shaved the plastic slide slightly and the
problem went away. (This probably invalidates the warranty)

We really like the Jordan. It is a true proportional controller
that works smoothly with predictable results. It does not use
timers, etc., to determine the amount of current to apply to the
brakes. I have never had to use the manual control feature so can't
comment on it.

The threshhold current can be easily adjusted using a small knob on
the controller front panel and is easy to set up in a parking lot or
gravel road.
