Steve, the repairs are a small part of the fun of owning an airstream
you more than likley want to start your new home rather than fix
up a place to live....and it was a shock to find the damage after
you closed the deal...with the repairs and use while building
you'll possibly be able to sell for what you have in it....
most unlikley with most purchases one makes... if you want to
sell it.
On another note i started to search out leaks on my 72 safari...
(Any ideas on how to keep an open tube of Vulkem from setting
up in the tube after use????? I triple wrapped in handi-wrap
and taped it. The only thing i didn't do that i normally do with cauking is 
seal it in a zip lock type bag. any ideas????)
We're supose to get some rain and i'm waiting for the test!!!
I only have one other area that the leak could be comming from
its where the strip from the end of the awning is attached to the
body. There is no sealant of any kind that was used.
When i removed the inner window trim i was looking for the origin
of the leak, boy did it leak after the next rain..... just
waiting to see if i passed my test......
