Hi Dan,

On the side of my load range D tires, the imprinted words say 65 PSI for
2540 # carrying capacity.

During previous years with previous tires with the same carrying capacity, I
used 45 PSI. After a couple of years, I noticed the outside edges were worn
more than the center. The damage was done.

On the next set of tires, I used 55 PSI and after a couple of years, the
outside edges were less worn than before, but worn more than the center. The
damage was done. 

Then, I attended one of the "A Weigh We Go" seminars and learned how to
figure out the PSI based on the weight of my trailer.

For our 1977 31' Airstream that weighs 8,795 pounds, the recommended tire
pressure is 65 PSI. That's what we're using now.

Thus and therefore - Dan, the question is -- NOT --

> What is the tire pressure everyone is using in their Goodyear Marathon load

Instead - the question -- IS -- how much does your trailer weigh - and then,
on that basis - determine what PSI should be used.

As Jim Dunmyer mentioned: "All manufacturers publish load/inflation
charts for their tires, and everyone should consult them."

If you don't have one of those charts in your stash box, you don't have
enough information to make an informed decision.  By guess and by gosh won't
do it, or as one of my secretaries used to tell me, "Good enough isn't."
