We have a full size van and just set it in the back. Fumes are not a problem. 
The tank fill has a shut off. and we never encountered any smell. (from the 
gen.)

Yes, that's what we do.

We run the lights, pump, TV, and heater (gas with blower) with no problems. 
Turn off everything and you can use the coffee maker. Never tried the 110 
refer, certainly not the A/C. I'm happy with the way it runs, and it's light 
weight. Not really about it's cost but it is a quality unit.
