Re: [A/S] Rear view mirrors
Once while cruising the Internet I found a set of replacement outside rear
view mirrors for my 2002 GMC. Shortly after I finally took delivery one of
our suppliers introduced them in their catalog. The mirrors are direct
replacement for the original and can be purchased to duplicate the installed
mirror. Installation is simple, pop off a cover, undo three bolts,
disconnect a small wire harness and reverse the process with the new one.
Takes about 15-20 minutes. Even if the truck has GM's version of towing
mirrors, the sad little things, these can be used to replace them. Now the
good part. These things are HUGE. The glass measures 10" wide and 10" tall.
For tow mode they pull out 4.25" on each side. They are big enough to work
with a widebody. After driving with these things on any thing else looks
tiny by comparison. And with the electric's it makes backing even easier
because you can move them around to keep an eye on things. This is a new
thing for me cause my old truck had manual mirrors.
