However if you checked the usable bandwidth
of that Mag Mount, you would, for instance
find anywhere from 1/2 to 1 MHz wider bandwidth
with the bodymount. Capacitive mounting also is
responsible for stray RF currents when transmitting.
Using strapping to ground Magnetic Mounts will in
my opinion defeat the purpose of a Mag Mount
(ease of mounting temporary antennas).

I have several Mag Mounts that I use for rental
car installations, they have their uses. Nothing
however beats a properly installed body mount for
mobile communications.
