Jim,

Welcome to the group and the wonderful world of tinker toys. Things have 
changed since that book was written. Gotten better one hopes. Slipicone is 
clear silicone spray. It makes a great lubricant for seals and the like. As 
many on the list will tell you, you don't every want to use clear silicone 
sealant anywhere on the outside of your coach. The preferred sealants are 
Vulkem, a polyurethane based product and Alcoa Gutter Seal or the like which 
is a liquid that wicks into joints and seams. Kool Seal is no longer 
recommended for the tops of Airstreams. Turns out it caused more trouble
than it fixed. A careful going over on the roof seams, rivets, and various 
penetrations with Vulkem is a better method these days.
