Hi Charlie, and everybody ,
   Enjoyed hearing about your trip , sounds like you had a good time . I hope to get out that way myself some day .
I was also interested in your experience with the Equal-i-zer hitch . I bought one last fall to tow my caravel , put about 500 miles on it , worked great although I have never had much trouble with
sway . I bought it because the stirrup part that attaches to the frame fit so much better than reese type hitches on the smaller frame of the caravel ,and I liked the design and simplicity.  The
lightest bars for the equalizer are 600 lbs , and I figured that I could use it on my 26` as well . Now I wonder if the bars are too heavy for the 250 + lbs tongue of the caravel . The trunions are
even thicker than my old 600 lb Reese bars . I am thinking of having them machined down in the middle to give them some more spring ,which obviously would void any warrentee , but wouldnt be as stiff
. Or just getting the lightweight Reese or Husky hitch which I found out about after I bought the Equal-izer
   My new baby is a 22 ` 63 , which is lighter than your argosy ,  certainly less than 600 lbs . When I get that ready (next year it looks like now ) Do you think the bars will be to stiff for that
as well? I dont know what that weight is maybe 400 loaded I`m guessing . I dont want to beat the heck out of my trailers . It (the Equal-izer) seemed to ride nice with the caravel ,smoothed it out a
lot , it used to bounce around a bit when I towed it without wght bars ( I have a 3/4 ton suburban ), and I did want some sway control just in case ...
  What do others with small trailers use for weight dist / sway control ?
