[A/S] Re: Tow car
Hi David
Like others on this site I have been towing for years. Twenty years
ago I towed with large full size cars. Some with large engines and
plenty of power, maybe even more than the 3/4 ton truck I now use.
When towing a small to medium size unit, it can work out. But when
towing a 31' trailer, there is a differance between a car and truck.
More weight, larger brakes, heavey steering and high capacity shocks
that can not put on a passenger car. The life expectancy of a truck
is longer because of it's design. Larger differentials, heavey drive
lines with larger u-joints. Bigger tires with a larger foot print. I
personally won't go back to a passenger car to tow in this weight
class. Good luck.....Arnie
