Another tidbit you might want to file in your memory bank is many RVers use
dry ice instead of regular ice when they are marathon driving more than 24
hours with their propane turned off.  Plus, dry ice doesn't turn into water
and slosh around with each bump in the road.

Dry ice provides far more cooling capacity for a far longer period than ice
cubes (or small block ice). The refrigerator can be opened several times
during that 24 hours without ice cubes thawing or food going bad.

Another option. The family next to us in this campground is carrying a
portable refrigerator. When they travel, it's plugged into the auxilliary
battery in their truck. When in the campground, it's plugged into one of
their110 volt outlets inside their trailer.  They are marathoners from
Ontario who come to Florida on their two week winter vacation.

Another option. Last month at the Seafood Festival in Everglades City, FL.,
one of our camping neighbors told about buying a bag of ice every two days
for the Coleman Cooler in their truck. They do this to have cold drinks and
unmelted chocolate handy without having to stop and open their refrigerator.
Their dogs like cold water on hot days, too.
