Re: [A/S] I finally got one!
The first thing you need to do is see which has a size that will fit your
opening. When I replaced min in my '78 about three years ago I was
advised the newer dometic models were slightly larger and would not fit
my cabinet opening. However, I was fortunate to secure an earlier model
that Camping World had in stock. A smaller size is not much of a problem
to adjust around but a frig. larger then you cabinet opening will mean
cabinet expansion which is not easy. Incidentally replacemenht a frig.
in the '78 took almost seven hours and I felt the one price installation
charge by Camping World turned out to be a really good deal. Mine was a
two way and from what I heard at the time the three ways were somewhat
of a problem when they first came out as folks kept running down their
vehicle batteries by failing to shut off the the "3rd" way. If they have
solved this problem you might find the three way gives you a little
flexibility when driving long distances (over four hours) after which
ones frig. tends to loose its temp. enough to not provide adequate
cooling. Pulling with the frig. on gas is not recommended for safety
purposes although I do it, as do most other. The wind will often blow
out my pilot so this procedure works about half the time. If you are
towing with gas in your frig. it is recommended you stop and shut it off
wen going into a gas station to insure that your pilot will not ignite
gas fumes from the gas pumps.
