Nice size and year. I remember the day we picked ours up, it's a great 
feeling I can relate.  If you are not sure how to trouble shoot your fridge 
find a fellow RV'er to help. It could be as simple as a spent heating 
element, the burner clogged, or a host of other minor ailments. Any of them 
is much cheeper than a new unit. If it doesn't smell of ammonia that's a good 
sign. As far as replacement I'm under the impression that on 3 way units the 
12 volt setting gives limited cooling. In my book not worth the extra money. 
Dometic or norcold? I think you will get varied opinions on what is better. 
From what I have been able to gather there have been good years and bad years 
for Dometic. Some, lasting decades some,  2-3 years.  If and when the day 
comes I need to replace the original Dometic in our 75 I will stick with 
Dometic. They still make a replacement unit that will go into the same 
opening. That's the biggest selling feature for me. One last thing, I guess 
you have been following the thread on free WBCCI membership? Welcome to the 
club?
