You will get better service, more power, and longer life if you use two 
golf cart six volt batteries in series rather than two twelve volt 
batteries in parallel.  It is also a bit cheaper.   Last summer one of the 
two twelve volt Interstate batteries that came with my new Airstream MH 
gave out and I replaced them with Interstate golf cart batteries.  I was 
amazed at the difference!!!
