Oliver, I'm with you.  Oil is too cheep not to change often.  On a new 
vehicle, I change the oil at 500 miles and then shoot for 3000 mile changes 
after that.  I always change the filter with every oil change.  I always use 
the same brand oil at every change.  

I just got a new truck and have had to get the first two oil changes at the 
dealer, since I do not have the "stuff" I need to change it myself while here 
in FL.  When I get home, I will do the changes myself and bring the stuff to 
do it in FL next winter.
