There are only four screws holding that AC cover in place. If you find a
used one in good shape, why not?

Some RV dealers have a standing order with junk yards that are located
adjacent to the Interstates.  There's no reason why you can't submit a
"standing offer."

Then when the weather warms up and the junk yard hasn't come through, do as
Mike Kent suggested and go the fiberglass repair kit route. Yo won't be the
first one. Some of our members have used fiberglass repair kits to reinforce
their stone shields. They came out stronger than original and look sharp.

As for your comment about practicing for your future Airstream and you
asking, "What do you think out there?" I say, "Rubbish. Your Argosy is a
genuine Airstream and the future is right now."   <grin>
