I would also concur with Harvey.  On a couple of my
older tow vehicles I had battery isolators installed
to protect the auto battery.  I haven't done that on
the last three vehicles.  While I don't know if GM
puts these on their newer factory equipped tow
vehicles, I always pull the trailer plug when I
overnight and am still hitched.
