HI TJ,
Our +12V on the 7-way receptacle/plug is in the center pin; it 
handles more current. I installed relays in the tow truck ('72 F-250)
charging system so that I can isolate one(of two) of the tow 
batteries from the tow system and run it only on the A/S...(when I 
turn it on)... which leaves me one "fresh" battery for starting the 
engine of the truck.  I installed a "remote sense" ammeter in the 
plus-line from the truck's "house battery", after the relay, and 
before the 7-way connector at the rear. This allows me to monitor how 
much current is being pulled from the truck's charging/battery 
system. I installed one voltmeter in the truck charging system and 
one in the A/S.  With this setup, we are able to "rough it" for three 
days, saddle-up and then I recharge trailer and all to the next 
camping site. Of course, we aren't watching TV(not worth it), or 
staying up late with all the lights on, but we have all the power we 
want. This is over simplified, but if you have the general idea you 
will be able to fabricate your own system. If you want more detail, 
let me know.
