[A/S] Going to look at Airstream...
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the suggestions on what to look for on the 1974
Excella. I haven't seen it yet but I put a deposit on it...It's a
five hour trip one way to see it and i must make the trip in one day
as have four shih-Tzu's at home.
The airstream is being sold at a dealership. I spoke briefly
with the RV mechanic and he said the trailer was 'in great shape'
taht everything works on it and has new refrigerator. Also, that it
was $4,695 not $5,000, which will cover the cost of the $200 they are
requesting to tow it to our land, 200 miles away. (which is great for
us since we haven't a tow vehicle right now. Well, we do have an
older suburb and a GMC truck set up to tow BUT both vehicles need
work)
I have searched the internet to find a 1974 Excella to look at
but can't find one. I've seen the 1973, '75 and '76...Is the 1974
about the same as one of these models? Back twin beds, 31 ft.
I am concerned with the possibly of floor rot and leaks but
guess we'll get this anyway as we want one for spring and can't
really travel for one.
This site has been a great sourse of info and I've gleaned alot
from it. so glad to have found it. Iva.
