Your 16 1 T 235 serial number does put it at the 235th Bambi made in 
Ohio.  Production numbers are (Ohio are estimates based on serial # 
spreads):
1961: 250 Ohio, 248 Calif
1962: 150 Ohio, 33 Calif
1963: 150 Ohio, 35 Calif

The electric plug/cord you mention is actually 110v, and may be 
original.  An adapter was then used to bridge between that twist-lock 
and whatever outlet you are plugging into.

The gas lines below the belly skin are original, and are there to 
prevent possible gas leaks into the interior (LPG is heavy & sinks).  
The gas lines should all run attached to the skin, and only go vertical 
up through the floor at the appliance.
